CAL Lighting grew out of the Southern California design trade, where products are judged in real rooms rather than in a catalogue. That background still shapes how we develop a fixture: we prototype the shade proportion, check the glare angle from a seated position, and confirm the finish reads correctly under both daylight and warm 2700K lamping before a family goes into production.
- In-house product development. Body, shade, socket, cord and finish are engineered as one assembly, so replacement parts still match years later.
- Compliance-first engineering. Hardwired and portable luminaires are built to North American safety standards with UL or ETL listing and clear location ratings.

Scale Before Style
A dining chandelier usually works at roughly half to two-thirds the table width, with the lowest point about 30–34 in above the surface. Island pendants are typically spaced 24–30 in apart and 30–36 in above the counter. Getting scale right first means the finish decision becomes purely aesthetic.

Light Quality, Not Wattage
For residential and guestroom interiors we recommend 2700K–3000K sources with CRI 90+ so timber, textiles and skin tones stay natural. Confirm dimming protocol and driver compatibility at specification stage — a warm dim-to-low profile is what makes a lobby or bedroom feel finished.

Maintenance & Continuity
Hospitality operators replace shades and sockets long before they replace fixtures. Select families with standard-socket lamping, available replacement hardback or softback shades and repeatable finishes so a property can be refreshed room by room without a visible mismatch.
